More treadmill

Yesterday did 6.6 miles on a treadmill. I did the first five miles in forty-four minutes, but the last fifteen mnutes were much slower. It seems to help keeping track of runs, especially posting them publicly makes me feel guilty if I don't go.

Back on the treadmill and a wierd Christmas card

Due to the weather I used the treadmill at Ballys 5 miles in a little under forty six minutes. I will be glad when it warms up and I can run outside. I know I need to both increase distance and pick up the pace. Also, got a really odd Christmas card from a friend who has decided to go the sperm donor route so that she can have a child. She talks about someplace in California that has the highest quality sperm. I can see the artificial insemination part but I am pretty sure that is too much information for a generic Christmas card.

For Months to a Four Hour Marathon

I got a book for Christmas called Four Months to a Four hour Marathon. First I will have to follow the directions and then we shall see how it works out. Watched the Hangover and District Nine, both were great movies.

Surpisingly good Christmas

Sort of training

Rode a little over twenty miles on the patrol bike at work. Not really a substitute for running but the best I can do right now. Anyone else see the most recent Terminater movie? Seemed like the terminater was far
ore likeable than John Conner. I wonder if that isn't why the show never caught on, the machines are far cooler than the people.
New goal is to get at least one run in before Christmas, if all else fails maybe I can get a run in at work Christmas eve.

Training day 2

I ran 3.6 miles, that is two laps around Cheeseman park and .4 miles from and back to my house. I ran with my Purple Plott hound McClory(that was his name when I adopted him) The first lap seemed faster than yesterday and the second lap was slower, I am blaming my dog for that. It is great though, McClory seems very tired after the run and is almost easy to deal with. He is a three-year-old hound with a lot of energy, so getting some of that energy out of him is great.
Looks like training for a marathon might be good for all of us.

Total miles ran so far 8.6

Training log

I just signed up for the Colfax Marathon here in Denver, it was kind of pricey($90) they better have a cool T-shirt.
For my first trainng run off of the treadmill I did three laps at Cheeseman Park, including the .4 miles from my house to the park and the .4 miles back to my house, the entire run was exactly five miles. At least that is what my Garmin Forerunner 205 tells me. It took me just under 49 minutes. If I really hope to break 4 hours for the marathon I am going to have to pick-up the pace.

If anyone comes acroos this post and has any training tips let me know, I am pretty sure the Garmin will be invaluable as I had no idea how slow I was running until I saw the near ten minute per mile average right there on my wrist.

Just wanted to see what it looks like
